What to Expect

Located at the historic Port Ashton Packing Company site, Port Ashton Lodge is a truly amazing and authentic, remote Alaskan experience. Lodging is set up for those do-it-yourself rental cabins, most with many modern convenience.

Come to Port Ashton Lodge to enjoy nights around the campfire, wildlife viewing, scenic tours, photography, kayaking, beach combing, the wood-burning hot tub or just to experience a more simple life where the daily rhythms are centered on the rising and falling tides.

Kayak among icebergs near whales and porpoises. Watch for otter, eagle, mountain goats, seals, sea lions, moose, black bears, humpback whales, and orcas on the trip to and from the lodge or on a wildlife viewing charter. Fish the calm waters of Prince William Sound for halibut, ling cod, rock fish, and salmon. Experience comfortable and attentive hospitality in the heart of the wilderness at Port Ashton Lodge, on Evans Island in Prince William Sound, Alaska.

In addition, we love to collaborate with other Alaskan businesses. We work with many preferred charter partners out of Whittier and Seward, this allows us at Port Ashton Lodge to focus our energies on lodging to make your trip a unique and fabulous experience.

The Look Out log cabin and the Hideaway log cabin are set up for independent meal preparations and dining.  Port Ashton Lodge does not provide meals.  Due to our remote location and no local stores are in the area, make certain all groceries and drinks are secured in town prior to departure.

Don’t wait for another season to come and go — make your reservations today!

WHAT TO LEAVE BEHIND

While Port Ashton has many modern conveniences, we are off the roadsystem and off the grid. This means we are very energy conscious and efficient - we don't have microwaves or even electric coffee pots (we make great coffee the old-fashioned way in perkpots!)

This means appliances like curling irons, hair dryers and other similar electric appliances can be left behind or should not be used while you are here. If you have a question about medical equipment or other electronic items, please call.

Pets are best left behind also, as Port Ashton has a no-pets policy for safety and other reasons.

DAMAGE AND/OR THEFT OF  PROPERTY

Guests are financially liable for damage to any Port Ashton Lodge property caused by the guest or any person in the guest's party, whether the act was deliberate, negligent, or reckless. PAL will make every effort to rectify or replace damaged property keeping costs to a minimum, however, due to our remote location, charges will include transportation, shipping, and handling fees as incurred.

EXCELLENT!

Excellent Views, Lodging, and People. Highly recommended for any fishing trips or general vacations.
